I offer counselling and psychotherapy in the peaceful and tranquil setting of my home in rural Northumberland. Prior to setting up my private practice I have had 20 years experience as an educational psychologist, specialising in attachment and trauma. In 2020 I decided the time had come to make the change to focus entirely on counselling in private practice and I can offer both in-person and online sessions. (I am fully qualified in Educational Psychology, Person Centred Counselling, Silent Counselling, EMDR, and Online Therapy) I practice primarily from a Person Centred perspective – I believe we all have the inherent wisdom and power within ourselves to heal and know our highest selves, if only we are given the right conditions and nurturing to do so. This also aligns with the philosophy of the Buddhist practice that has been an important element of my life for the past 30 years. I also offer Silent Counselling which is a form of energy release therapy for working with ‘stuck’ negative emotions.
I am committed to helping clients finding their true selves in an atmosphere of complete acceptance, positive regard and respect but I may also gently challenge you and encourage you to explore areas that may be difficult when this is appropriate as I believe this is essential on the path of self-discovery. In a world that can feel increasingly confusing and alienating I will sit alongside you to help you find your voice to speak your truth and hold your boundaries. We can work in purely pragmatic ways, or we can explore deeper and more spiritual aspects of this journey, depending on your needs and wishes. I look forward to meeting you!
